mostly swans

After staying in all day yesterday because of  reports of Ophelia   hitting Bude  It was good to get out today, We couldn't decide weather to walk along the canal or down to crooklets beach  but in the end we did both,  It was really strange not sure if it was sea mist or remnants of yesterdays storm but the air was  sort of  heavy  there was no breeze and really warm ,  we stopped to watch the sea for a while before walking over the coast path  back into Bude and then along to the canal and round the marshes,

Usually we see a couple of swans on the river Neet and maybe another two on the canal but today there were 4 on the river  2 either side of the bridge

And another 4 on the canal in two seperate places

I love the relections in the water on these photo's

There have been 5 cygnets in this family but  over the past week 2 have gone missing was talking to someone about it and was told that the parents had sent them away, seems so sad wonder if thats something that happens normally will have to google it,

It was really quiet along the canal not many people out walking  so was really peaceful,   My favourite place to be No matter how many times we walk along it
